Agartha Version 1
A Dragonblood Merchant
I am the heir to House Ghostland’s holdings: the land around the Lake of Ghosts, my family’s keep (Spirt’s Hold), and the wealth of an old and well endowed noble family. I was groomed to play my role in the nobility of the Deeproot Mountains and to eventually be one of the bannermen for the royal line of Lasrok. This heritage meant nothing to me, I neither respected the royal line of the dwarfs of Lasrok nor did I desire to live the mundane life of the Lord of a land that most men feared to even speak of little alone actually travel to. So I escaped all of this with the help of my lord father’s Game Warden and Steward, Godrick Stubbs. Godrick remains an ally and close associate of mine, he not only keeps me updated on the happenings of my family but he also put be in contact with all of the early people I met outside of Spirit’s Hold. I soon found my self as a merchant who was running caravans between all of the major cities of Agartha. After leaving Spirt’s Hold I never told anyone about my lineage and kept my past and surname a close guarded secret. No one truly knows who I am. To make money as a merchant I had to rely on some less than scrupulous tactics. I became a smuggler of outlawed goods, sold to forbidden people and territories, I raided tombs and ruins to find rare and powerful items to sell, and I developed the magical education I received at my family’s keep into powerful illusionist magic so that I may better do all of these things. Above all of this I used my knack for “dealing” with people to get by. Everything was going well until the the Kensinki Act was put into place. Its policies made almost all of my work smuggling and I soon found that more and more of my friends and allies were disappearing. This caused me to rely on individuals who I should have not trusted, individuals like Noran Cunningham. While I was moving some potions and magical items into Killarney, Noran was the captain of the city guard, and he was suppose to escort me through the city’s walls and into the depths of the market where I could discreetly find buyers for my items. Instead as soon as I got through the city wall I was arrested and almost all of my possessions were turned over to the city. I was given a choice by the magistrate who heard my case I could either begin work in one of General Kensinki’s reeducation camps or join as a new recruit to The Bureau of Magical Regulation.
